Every year in the late summer the Finland MN Historical Society hosts an educational speaker who shares about a topic related to the Finland area or Finnish culture. In the past we’ve had people talk about various aspects of the logging industry, boat building and restoration, historic railroads, the fishing industry, and local resorts up and down the shore. The event is held at the heritage site in the old one room schoolhouse – a fitting venue for learning something new. The rest of the site is open as well so you can look around before or after the program. Light refreshments are served. If you have a topic or suggestion of someone you know who could share their knowledge please let us know. You can reach us at finlandmnhs@gmail.com. This summer’s program is being held on Thursday, September 7th, at 6:30 p.m. We hope to see you there.
